Hi @habenn ,

You didn’t specify which model ProDesk 480 you have but they should all be similar in how to remove/replace the ram but maybe not what type of ram the system supports

Here’s the hardware reference guide for the 480 G3 model.

Go to p.11 to view the necessary pre-requisite steps and then the procedure to remove/replace the memory.

Here’s a link to a ram supplier that may help. It is not a recommendation to use them, simply use them to find out what type of ram is compatible with your exact model desktop

In the boxes type HP then ProDesk then 480 and then scroll to find your exact model e.g. G1, G2, G3 etc. . This will tell you how much ram the desktop supports and what type, specifications etc. Use the information to then find suppliers that suit you best.

You'll need to unplug the tower from the power source, remove the outer cover. Look on the.mother board for the memory sticks. Once you see them WITHOUT sticking your hand inside yet see if theirs any open slots. Then once you decided that you can add more memory sticks you MUST ground yourself to the frame of the computer while simply plugging you new sticks into their respective slots and then close the tower back up. If there are no extra slots and you want to replace the memory styx you have with large capacity styx the process is a bit different!
