How to clean the fans - opened it and was horrified

So the fans are really dirty and full of dust - no wonder my mac runs so hot. Whats the safest way to clean the fans?

Also is it worthwhile to repaste the thermal solution? I have worked with desktop computers before so have the tools but not sure if its needed for mac.

To soon to clean off the TIM, wait for 3~4 years to worry about that

Use a small soft paint brush to scrub the fan blades and cowlings blades and the heat sink fins, the use a few short blasts of can’ed air to push the junk away.
