Screen Replacement Camera Doesn't Work without Apple Proprietary AST2

Hi Folks - Screen replacement is super easy. But once you turn on the computer, the biggest issue is that the Camera will not work unless you take it in to Apple so they can run system configuration using AST2. So, even if you’re using authentic Apple parts, you cannot do this type of repair at home and be sure it will succeed 100% of the time. Any suggestions for working around this? Apple says the only solution is to send the computer to their technicians, buy a new screen from them, and have them set it all up. Thanks!
