It's time to speak out for your right to repair
Massachusetts,
The people of Massachusetts have always stood up for their
right to repair. In 2012, voters passed a law that ensured
residents' right to repair their car wherever they wanted.
Now, it's time to do the same for electronics.
With the Digital Right to Repair Bill, H.3383, we have a chance
to guarantee our right to repair electronics — like smartphones,
computers, and even farm equipment. We have a chance to help
the environment and stand up for local repair jobs—the corner
mom-and-pop repair shops that keep getting squeezed out by
manufacturers.
The Digital Right to Repair Bill requires manufacturers to
provide owners and independent repair businesses with fair
access to service information, security updates, and
replacement parts.
If you agree with us, find out who represents you in the
Massachusetts legislature. Tell them you support the
bipartisan Digital Right to Repair Bill. Tell them that you
believe repair should be fair, affordable, and accessible.
Stand up for the right to repair in Massachusetts.
I apologize for not being more clear. My PRAM battery is dead and I ordered the battery that is supposed to be in the A1106. When I opened my computer I found the battery in my computer is the one that is recommended for the A1138. The questions here are; has anyone else found this issue AND does the A1138 battery come with the harness? Thank you for the links to repairs.
The second part of my question is about the laptop battery. It is acting very strange and I wanted to know if the PRAM battery would effect it's performance (it is showing 94% charge), but in the pull-down menu on the menu bar it shows that it is not charging and when I unplug the computer, the computer shuts down and with the PRAM dead, well you know what happens, it's 1969 all over again. And when I press the button on the battery to show the charge, the lights all come on then flash off...
Thanks again for the reply.

I had the exact same problem. I ordered the round battery for my A1106 that matched the one shown in the guide, and when I opened the case, it had a square battery that looks like the one that shows in the repair guide for the A1138. I don't know if this is a mistake in the guides (reversed?) or if apple used different batteries in different versions of of the A1106. The size and shape of the two carrier boards look the same, but they hold different shaped batteries. I found a used like battery on eBay and returned the round one to ifixit.com.
