2013 Logic Board in 2012 housing

Hi all,

Here I have 2x MacBook Pro 15” Retina models. One is a 2012 and one is a 2013, basically the housing on the 2013 is really scratched up and the Logic Board one the 2012 version has a GPU fault. Is it possible to put the 2013 Logic Board in the 2012 MacBook? They're both Retina and 15” models.

Thanks,

Andy.

mmm… Not sure! You see there are two versions of the 2013 models Early and Late. Maybe this will help you as the 2012 models and early 2013 are within the same model ID as such they us the same parts!

MacBookPro10,2 Both 2012 & early 2013 systems

But as you can see here in the late 2013 models:

IG MacBookPro11,2

DG MacBookPro11,3

Apple offered two versions! And many of the parts are unique just to the late 2013 systems.
