Is there a chance we deleted levels from super mario game?

When playing Super Mario we formerly had all 8 levels to advance to. Now when playing we only have Level 1 and once complete it does not continue or advance at all. Is it possible the kids deleted levels from the game? if so how do we get them back?

I am unable to connect to the internet to download any games, not sure if it has that app?

The game Cartridges that Nintendo uses on its DS and 3DS platforms use a type of memory called a ROM, or Read Only Memory. What this means is that the end user, your kids, are unable to erase any game content, accidental or otherwise.

However the cartridges do contain a small amount of EEPROM or flash memory to store game progress and game saves. It is possible, although unlikely, that that memory may be damaged, keeping the game thinking that there is no save, or that you have never played, leaving only the first level available.

If the game was purchased retail it may be under warranty. Contact Nintendo to get it replaced.
