I’m looking for an new battery for my MacBook. Is this one compatible?

MacBook Pro 15" Retina (Mid 2012-Early 2013) Battery

I can only find a battery for Model A1417, but my MacBook is Model A1398…

Ah! The model number confusion! The battery model number has nothing to do with the systems model number!

Well, your battery is past its expected cycle count of 1,000 and the age of the battery likewise exceeds its lifetime which is why the batteries design capacity is so low.

You do need a new battery!
