Why does my PS3 still not work after repairing ylod?

I made a repair on a PS3 with the kit that I ordered. I followed the directions with the blonde female on the video, taking my time and making sure I did everything as instructed. I simply want to backup my ps3 HDD to an external HDD. After being on for a few minutes, I got a box on the screen that said "your ps3 is getting hot, please shut it off." I didn't even have the time to shut it off before it went back to square one. I think performed the same procedure on another PS3 and the same thing happened. What is going on?

Let me add that I have another ps3 available that is doing basically the same thing. same 40 gb model, same pieces. Would anyone suggest replacing the power supply? or should I not tamper with that? I feel that one fan may be better than the other, and also on that note should I purchase an intercooler, just to save the data? Thanks.

The YLOD kit is a kit that allows you to reflow your chips and re-apply all thermal components correctly. If you are still getting YLOD, it's possible your first reflow attempt(s) were not successful. You can try going through the process again and being more aggressive with your heating. Caution must be used however, as too much heat can permanently damage the chips. It's a very delicate balance but hopefully you can hit it if you try again!

I appreciate your assistance. It's cooling off again as I hit it with the heat gun for the second time. I hope I can get it to work this time, thank you.
