Showing all of a sudden. Half of screen is basically dark at same moment, but flashes white when i hit side of tv. Vertical lines appearing randomly. Both sides of screen seem to be able to make similar light with the vertical lines. Now its crazy lines, cant even see the menus anymore.

I cleaned connects but it did nothing. Both sides of screen seem to have beautiful vertical bright lines.

Should i check voltages, any suggestions? Or just order a tcon board? Now its showing the “no signal” words on the screen, with darkening of it mostly on the right side of screen.

Any ideas would be great. This tv has also some sort of board with like 14 connectors into it, which then goes to the panel. I wonder if its worth trying to repair?

Thank You for any help!

Jonathan Filippi you can try a new T-Con board but the way it looks on the images this is a bad panel. Actually a bad panel LCD driver board. That is the board that connects to the LCD display. Check your LVDS cables check all the connectors for any damage and reseat the cables properly. Check for corrosion as well. Check the voltages on the T-con board to the LCD panel. We would need to see the T-con board so we can assist you with that. So post some images of it as well

It actually typically does the vertical lines over the whole screen, but these pics i happened to get also. I think i cleaned all contacts. Is the lcd panel board the one with the 15 connectors, or is it the one coming from the tcon with the 2 wirestrips, down at bottom? Should i try pulling one of those and see what happens? The lcd panel board, if its the one with 2 wirestrips, is underneath some more plastic, so i will have to get down to it. I really appreciate the help!

I will check voltages tonite or tomorrow. Thanks! Things also seem to break at bad times! Good Day

Ok, i see the lcd driver board is the one with the many connections. The dual connector board on the bottom must be the panel itself? The many connects are zones for dimming? I can see they go back into the panel area... Thanks for the help, this is interesting stuff. I wonder if its the power supply, being that i run it off an inverter and also have been using AC dimming lights here in my RV, which i imagine cause major voltage/current fluctuations? Regardless this TV has made 5 years of use, so not bad.

@Jonathan Filippi there is never a good time for things to go on the Fritz. At least not for me :-) Anyhow the board with all the connections you are looking at is most likely the <Main board. You are looking at the board where the flat ribbon cable that originates on the T-con board and terminates at teh LCD panel board. The last board that connects to the LCD is the driver board. Now it is possible that this is the T-con board but for that you have to do plenty of measurements etc. to verify this. I would consider trying to purchase an inexpensive (yes, even used board) just to check it out.

I have posted a few more pics up top. I tried to get voltages, but don't know what I'm doing. I got 13 out of where i think it said 7.5dcv.

The board with the 17 plus connections has a small red led which keeps flashing. When the TV is on, I can see the white leds on through holes in the frame. They seem even and bright. That's reassuring to me lol.

Well, this story goes on ... Any suggestions from here? I have to jump in and throw parts at this thing and, I want to return the TV i just bought, cant really afford it. Got 30 days. Sneaky move from me, but sorry Walmart.

Want to spend maybe 100 or less and try to fix this guy! Tcon i saw for 20 dollars new. That would be great. Just hate to throw a fortune at this TV. Good news is: I don't have a fortune, so That can't happen! lol

I would be amazed to fix this thing! Any further suggestions, oldturkey3?

Hey, thanks for the help!
