Nikon Coolpix 7600 Lens cover won't open. Repairable?
The lens cover/iris of my Coolpix 7600 is loose, won't open. Lens extends fine, but cover won't open.

Bruce Carpenter, it is possible that you just have something stuck, like sand or other debris, that will prevent the shutter from opening. Take a look at this site and see if it helps.If the external cleaning does not resolve anything, it might be time to disassemble your camera and take a look at the leaves to make sure they are properly connect, the springs as well as the cable. Thank You Again!!
I held a vacuum end vertical and opened and closed the lens over the vacuum head, continually, while tapping the lens as it opened. After several minutes and 20-30 cycles, the lens cover began operating normally, and it continues to work many cycles later.
