I Want to work around the 2gb ram max, can I?

Is there any way to work around the 2GB ram max on the 1150. I am pretty sure that is the mbp I have. I know I have a 2 ghz processor and bought it in April 2006. Will upgrading to Leopard help?

Since that model number means you have a core duo processor (as opposed to a core 2 duo), 2gb is the limit, and upgrading the os is not going to help, since it's a hardware limitation. Since it's a limitation of the logic board, altering the machine is not practical, and the best way to resolve the issue unfortunately is to buy a new machine.

No, your computer is the oldest MBP made, according to Mactracker, so most technologies used now were very basic back then, as rdkl said, most of the machine would have to be replaced so it just isn't practical. Because of this it's not a software fix, so upgrading to leopard won't help you. However, upgrading to Snow Leopard will increase the speed of your machine, to some degree.

It's a 4 year old machine with a Intel processor capable of running 10.6, and Windows. What technologies are you referring to?

All that snow leopard does to increase speed! In case you missed all the hype about it, such as the smart allocation of processing power it does, such as GrandCentral which takes advantage of multi-core processors. And of course, 64-bit makes the system snappier than 32-bit.
