Anyone know how I would go about removing the DC Jack?

I got the laptop completely torn down and have a replacement jack. I could not for the life of me get the DC Jack to come loose. I tried a heat gun and soldering iron and it won’t budge at all. Thanks in advance!

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

@thebiguke definitely no fun. Use of Kapton tape on surrounding parts will be required. Preheat the board (I try to keep it around 80 deg C to 90 deg C) Then use lots of flux, soldering braid and a nice chisel tip for your soldering iron should work. As for temperature, I use whatever melts the solder since it should be quick and hot to melt it. To cold it will not melt the solder properly and potentially you’ll tear the traces; to hot and you’ll melt the solder pads on the motherboard. It does take practice….
