It's not accepting charge

the charger lights up when plugged in to dc port. but the laptop just dosent charge

Download and run Coconut Battery to get an idea of its condition and if it is even able to take a charge or needs to be replaced or is even seen. You may need to search for an older version: http://www.coconut-flavour.com/
