Video settings reset doesnt work?

I fixed my ps3 yesterday had to replace a cable anyways i turned my ps3 on and did an update where its been so long since i used it and it came up with an error and my system froze so i shut it off. When i turned it back on now nothing will come up on the screen not even a black screen and when i try the video reset by holding the power button it will take like a minute then just shut off exactly like this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cr9ciHUUT...

I tryed hooking it up using the av cables instead of hdmi and it makes no difference.

Jared, have your tried try accessing the recovery menu? You could try a system restore or another of the options on there. If it is a software or firmaware issue, formatting it should fix it.

  • Turn off ps3
  • hold power button down - system will turn on and off again
  • re-press button until you hear two beeps
  • take finger off power button after second beep
  • it'll ask you to plug your controller in with usb and press the ps button
  • the recovery menu should now show up
