I replaced the screen but not working

So my screen was cracked and I ordered a replace screen for it well I got home and I followed a tutorial on how to fix it step by step. I did everything exactly right but when I went to see if it worked all I got was a black screen and the MacBook kept repeating boot up over and over constantly (I kept hearing the boot up sound over and over) and nothing would pop up on the screen. It stayed black.

Using a flashlight pressed against the screen do you see your desktop and/or did you try connecting an external display to see if that works?
