Super strange iPhone XS Max image issue

I have an iPhone XS Max which has a super strange image issue. The phone has been opened, and I found that image does not work when an iPhone XS Max screen is used on it. However, if an iPhone X screen is used on it, image works. I also noticed image is super sensitive when the X screen is working with it, meaning if the screen is moved slightly it starts glitching and not working. Does anyone know what this problem may be?

What type of screens are you using OLED or LCD? You need to try it with a known good OLED screen. The LCD screens have a different architecture and can cause trouble due to the backlight circuit running directly off VDD_MAIN.

I am using a Soft OLED screen. I tested the VDD main pins using diode mode and everything seemed fine. The weird thing is the screen worked fine for a few minutes, it was just sensitive to movement. Then it stopped working altogether and I can’t get it to work again on this motherboard. The one thing that is a little strange is the screen connector doesn’t have much of a click when plugged in.

@Colby Morris This is where the iBridge comes into play if you haven’t got one I would suggest checking the connector under a microscope and make sure none of the pins have been pushed into the plastic. After multiple connects and disconnects your connecter could be faulty but without an iBridge you might have to just replace it and test.

If it is still not working you will need to check the power rails on the connector but if you haven’t the iBridge it could be difficult as you need the connector plugged in for some power rails to work. If you find you have a power problem on one of the lines I would replace chestnut.
