Overheating power connector and slow MacBook

Hi, i’ve posted a few times and im at a loss with the issue, any help is appreciated.

So I got a battery from Ifixit a while ago and ever since the power connector is extremely hot, the cable is discoloured yellow from the heat. Also, this happened previously but getting a new charger from the Apple store solved it for a few months until the problem returned. But also my computer just seems to be running really slow, I used to use DAW’s fine but now theres large cpu spikes when recording. Is it possible the DC in board is faulty and causing it to slow down?

To be clear you are running some version of Digital Audio Workstation software (DAWs)? What is the app and version.

What is your RAM and SSD sizes and how much free space do you have on your SSD?

@danj I'm using Ableton, its always worked fine. I just mean as an example how slow it has gotten, but generally everything is slow, chrome etc. 8gb ram and about 6gb of storage left. I know this isn't much but previously I didn't have problems. i'll try clearing some stuff Thanks.

To test out the speed, start it up in Safe Mode by holding down the Shift key on start up and let us know if this resolves the issue.
