I have a late 2008 or early 2009 MacBook Pro UniBody, Model A1286 which the dust shield pulled out and broke when I removed the CD Disk. My question is, when I look for the part, it's not listed. Does it come with the Left Speaker assembly or with a replacement CD/DVD drive, or can you buy the gray rubber band looking part separately, and if so, what is the part number. Thanks in advance

I don't know if there is a part number. Contact iFixit and reference this question. They may be able to help you.
as far as I know its not a separate piece. you would need to replace the unibody

I edited your MBP description to match Apple's and got the right tear down and parts list. I'm not sure I know what the gray rubber band part is but see if you can spot it on the drive.

I found that info a while back. On the right side of the MBP, there is a slot where you stick in the CD. Inside that slot, there is a shield or cover that is made out of felt or rubber or something soft that I guess keeps dust out. When I ejected a cd a few weeks ago, the shield came out or stretched out and broke when the cd came out. I need to replace this part. What I need to know is, does this part come separately, or does it come with a new CD drive or the Speaker housing. I have looked at both parts on line, and I don't see it on either part and I can't find it listed separately. I am trying to find out before I tear down the MBP. I hope this clears up what I need. Thanks in advance.

The "Dust cover" is part of the case - for a unibody model, its part of the unibody enclosure.

I am looking for the same part, with out the rubber cover the dvd when ejected shoots out into the air.
