slide bar won't slide
My son replaced the broken glass on his iphone 3gs and now the slide bar won't slide. The phone powers up and it looks normal with the icons and such, just the slide bar thing.
Is this a good question?

Revamped version of the iPhone 3G with faster processing speeds. Repair of this device is similar to the 3G, and requires simple screwdrivers and prying tools. Model A1303 / 16 or 32 GB capacity / black or white plastic back.

suzy, you may have to double check the connection for the digitizer. If all connections are seated properly and straight. Pay attention to connector #2, that is the touch screen connection. Make sure it is seated properly. Also make sure that it is a 3G not a 3GS replacement part. If the part is right, all connection are properly made, I would replace the touchscreen with either one from a working phone or get a new replacement from the vendor.

Thanks I will pass that along. The screen (glass) was from his old 3gs that got wet, and this phone is a 3gs that I bought to replace the wet one. The new phone was working perfect just the glass broke when it fell off the tool box of his truck. I will let you know if this works!

sounds good, let us know how it is going. There are a lot of non-working digitizers lately...must be a bad batch that is being supplied.

I just wanted to say I had the exact same problem (I replaced the glass after it broke) and once the iPhone was reassembled the "slide" function wouldn't work.
I did a minor disassemble (battery & cover over the digitizer connections) and the issue was definitely cable #2. I reseated everything, screwed down the cover (not as tightly as before) and it's working now.
Thanks SO much for posting this tip, it saved me a headache.

I have fitted a new battery and all seemed to go well until I found the slide bar not working. I re opened the phone and checked #2 and found the connector was not fully in. Now it is in fully my slide bar still does not work. Help please. Thanks Ollie
