Why won't my iPod touch turn on?

On a recent backpacking trip my ipod touch got wet, it turned on for a brief second, then shut off, and hasn't turned on since. it won't even charge. Can it be repaired?

robert, not sure how wet your iPod got, I'd suggest you follow this guide. I always suggest to change the battery as well,since the iPod batteries and water really do not like each other:-) Of course also try to reset your iPod Touch by holding down the hold button and the home button, continue holding the buttons down, even after the slider to turn off the touch appears. Do not let go. A few seconds after this, the screen should flash and go black. That is the point where the touch has been rebooted. Hold down the hold button until the screen lights up again and the Apple logo appears. Release the button and let the iPod touch boot up. the other thing you can try is to press and hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, then the LCD display will clear and the Apple logo appears on the black background. Once the Apple logo appears, the touch is reset. Hope this helps, good luck.
