Restored water damaged phone can't complete setup 4.1 Unlocked

After a very good clean of all corrosion I have managed to push past errors 3194 and 19 to restore this phone successfully but when the phone starts up and I choose English and Australia it then prompts me to plug into iTunes. I then get an error message to contact apple as the phone may have damage. The only thing unusual about this one is it has always said no service in the top left hand corner since I bought it and it was in recovery mode. It even had an alarm set by the previous owner that was still going off every day. Anyone got any ideas what might be the problem?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Have you tried a DFU and tried to restore a different firmware?

Hey old turkey thanks I will try that. I have only just embarked on this little crusade of fixing iPhones. Just something to do in down time up here on the mines. We work for 12 hours and have 12 hours off we work 2 weeks on and 1 week off. So I am just playing and learning a I go. Not really even sure what I restored it as. Just let iTunes do it's thing. I will read up about firmware not really sure what it means. I really appreciate ur help and I will get that photo uploaded just as soon as I have a desktop pc available to me. Am doing all this from my iPhone.

Sounds like iOS 5 start up.. Having my own problems on a 3GS, won't be downgraded lower than 4.3.5! Won't jailbreak, not recognising sim.. I'm Thinking it's ios5 not liking a 3GS?
