Heard the chime sound at booting but got black screen
I just won an iMac 21.5” Mid-2011 desktop computer from eBay. Upon receiving it, I hooked it up, heard the chime sound at booting, but got a black screen. Have tried many different tips found on internet, including press and hold power button for 30 secs, reset PRAM, remove all RAMs then put them back, hold down Option/Shift/Command-R, and so on, to no help. Screen is completely black still. Any suggestions to resolve this issue of my iMac are greatly appreciated.
Is this a good question?

I hope you didn't spend to much! Sounds like you got taken, this bidding websites often are not very good. Sorry ;-{
Lets see if there is still hope! Take a flashlight place it on the screen at a sharp angle do you see a faint image of the desktop and it's icons?

Even with a flashlight I saw no icons, screen is black still. Besides hearing the chime at booting, I then also heard a voice from back of iMac talking about voice setup. I also tried using a thunderbolt-to-HDMI adapter but saw nothing on a working LCD monitor. So, my iMac got bad system board or bad LCD
eBay has money back guarantee. If all fails I'll be returning the iMac to the seller. But before considering that last resort, I wanted to troubleshooting it what I can.
