When you got the system what was it doing, that is did the fan start up, was it pulsing on and off? Do you see the LCD screens grey change in shading?

While checking the rails is also important your skills of reading the symptoms of the system what I like calling symptom-alogy is also important from the start.

Pickup a few Agatha Christie Mysteries all her heroes & heroines all discover the subtle clues, you need to do the same!
