I had dropped the phone and broken the screen. The screen i ordered must have been defective because i tried it on another iphone and it didn't work. I had restored the phone and did plenty of resets and it wasn't working. I finally took it apart and put the old screen back on and it works fines even though its broken. The problem was that i was missing a screw to hold the logic board down, with out that screw the lcd is rendered useless, as it says in the guide.

What was wrong with the original screen?

I believe the screen you bought is bad. Here is a quick check you can do:

With the GOOD screen installed on the phone you were replacing screen on...reset the phone by pressing the power & home buttons together until phone reboots. Hopefully you get the apple logo again.

My experience...when a white screen appears, the phone has to be reset...even when you install a good screen.
