My laptop is not turning on. No charging lights.

I was working on my laptop in the night and i shut it down. I turned off the charger but left all accessories attached including a second screen which was also turned off.

But in the morning it didn’t turn on at all. Turning on the charger did nothing. No lights turned on showing if it was charging or not.

I tried all the basic diagnostic but in vain. I really need help. My parents would be super angry.

Model: Asus ROG G531GU

When you say you turned off the charger what do you mean? Unplugged it from the laptop or unplugged it from the power point?

What diagnostics did you try?

by

I only turned off my charger. I didn’t unplugged it from the socket or the laptop because i had to use it in the morning.

Also by diagnostics i meant i tried everything that was suggested on the internet like unplugging the battery and drain all the static charge by holding the power button. But it didn’t helped.

Leaving chargers connected to any device while unplugging from the power point is generally bad practice as it works in reverse and once it is depleted draws power from the device possibly stressing internal components.

Did you take out the CMOS coin battery to reset? This video should be close enough:

Have you checked that there is 19.5VDC on the output plug of the charger?

It may be that the charger wasn’t working before and the battery went flat therefore the laptop won’t start.

It could also be a faulty DC-In jack (supplier example only) if the charger is OK as there is no power light showing.

Yeah i checked the charger. It is working perfectly fine. I suspect that there is some issue with the motherboard.

@Ishant Kumar

You would need the motherboard schematic to find out what's happening.

The best way to find them (if there are any available online) is to find the motherboard's board number (printed on the motherboard) and search online for "(insert board number) schematics" as i found nothing by using the laptop's make and model number.

Usually motherboards are made by specialist board manufacturers to order by the laptop maker and not by the laptop maker themselves, that why you need to know the board number to hopefully find them.

Oh. Thnx for the info. I don’t think i will need the motherboard schematic cause i wont be able to do anything about any damage in motherboard. I neither have experience nor equipment for such work.

Again thnx for helping.
