I found a small piece of metal that looks to be broken off

So I took the landline apart and I found a small piece of metal that looks to be broken off

I doubt very much if I could get a replacement for that part so I’m wondering if I should try to Sauter a small piece of metal to the broken part or would it hold?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi @ tori.1954

Add some images to your QUESTION of what you have found. Here's how to do this on Ifixit Adding images to an existing question

I assume by "sauter" that you mean solder?

UK english pronunciation is sol der (as one word).

US english pronunciation is sodder or sotter. Sometimes I'm not quite sure which it is, although it is spelt the same as UK ;-)

I know people who use them for 10-15 years and toss the phone set, even though they buy the ones without the nonstandard battery shell.

They claim it's cheaper to replace the phones and wait on a sale.

So would you toss it if you knew what was wrong with it but needed some guidance to fix it?
