MacBook Air Logic Board and Wifi Issues

I have a late 2010 macbook air 2.13 ghz and 256gb. I spilled a coke on it, and it works fine, the I/O board had some corrosion and a cable as well, which were replaced. My wifi range is severely affected however, from my office to my router, I go from 30 MB/Sec to 1 MB/Sec, oddly, my UPLOAD stays up at 4MB at both ranges. I get good range there with my five-year-old white macbook and my Vaio.

My guess is that it's either the wifi card, or something to do with the logic board. If anyone has any other input that would be great.

So. I can replace the wifi card first, which will be around 100 bucks, if that doesn't fix the issue, I'll replace the logic board, which leads to my second question.

Can I swap the late 2010 Core2 Logic board with the Core i7 Logic board?

EDIT: Last Digits of the Serial are: DJDK. It was purchased in March of 2011.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Will need the last 3 characters of your serial number to verify some information.

You definitely can not put the i7 board in this without major modding. The airport card and where the antenna wire connect on the bottom of the board. Is your wireless network g or n? What encryption are you using? What is your operating system. Are there other wireless networks close by, if so are they on the same channel?

I think one is G and one is N. The important fact is that previously I didn't have such a dramatic drop in performance at such a short distance. The issue is the same regardless of wireless network, and the issue is not duplicated on a 2006 White Macbook, which still retains 29 MB/Sec at the same distance.

Distance has a progressively exponential negative impact, but mainly to download and not upload. In airports with Wifi Hotspots where I used to get signal, the reception shows full bars, but it refuses to even connect.

When I'm close to the router, I get almost full speed, around 29MB/sec, this will continue as long as there's a clean line of sight. If I get any walls, there's a huge impact that wasn't previously there. My only thought is that there are multiple antennas in my board and one got damaged. Nothing has changed in my wifi setup ever.

My operating system is lion 10.7.2, but I even reverted to the previous build to see if it made a difference. The change in speed occurred well after switching to Lion.
