I just changed the battery, now it won't charge.

I’m wondering if I damaged the charging circuit, failed to reconnect things properly, or if it simply needs some kind of reset.

The new battery showed 37% when I powered the phone back up. I followed the advice to discharge it completely before charging, and kind of forgot about it. I did note that the display seemed to be stuck on 37%. When I got back to the phone, it was off from being completely discharged.

I have a good charger and good cable; it works fine for other phones. The phone was charging properly before I swapped batteries. I left it on the charger overnight and it’s still at 0%

Answer this question I have this problem too

The replacement is a match for the old one, Motorola brand and model. The charger works fine on another phone. Did I kill the battery by discharging it completely?

I took the phone apart again today and connected the old battery without removing the new. Brought the phone back up and it won't charge the old battery either. I think I killed the charging circuit. Both the battery and the external charger work fine on their own.

Is there a way to replace or reset the charging circuit?

Send it to a tech repair station or look inside it then look up the model to see if its a match.
