Intermittent audio/battery issues + trackpad wont click (constantly)

QUICK READ: laptop’s trackpad went from breaking every few days to every few weeks and now doesnt work at all - the haptic feedback/’click’ doesnt work so i cant click and drag, only tap-to-click. my audio input/output & jack switch from not working to working every few days. my battery also switches from running out super quick in three hours for a week at a time to back to normal. battery health check says its normal.

MORE DETAIL (if needed):

After a few months of working just fine (bought second hand) my trackpad began to malfunction; the haptic feedback ‘click’ wasn’t working. Once rebooted one or two times, it would fix. Slowly - almost like a degenerative disease? ?- the trackpad would stop working for longer and longer periods and would need more and more reboots to resolve the issue. Eventually, after a few months, it broke entirely; no matter what I did, it would not work.

I called Apple Support and they lead me through a two hour process of system reboots - I do not remember all of the names, but PRAM reset was one. Another one they had me do, I’m not sure if this was the PRAM or another type of reset, eventually led me to a select your language page to finish the reset, but I could not actually click to do this. The shortcut for ‘Mouse Keys’ wouldn’t click it either. So I had to turn it on and off again to get off of this page and was unable to complete whatever reset this was, but for some reason, it had worked. The haptic feedback returned and I could click again :) Unfortunately, this lasted all but a few hours… I closed my laptop (just the screen, not full power off) and went out. When I came back, it had broken again.

I took it in for a Genius appointment at Apple where they told me they didn’t know what was wrong with my trackpad and would have to replace the entire part. I have not yet gone through with this.

A month later my audio randomly broke. I couldn’t hear anything from my internal speakers, nor could my computer hear me - Siri couldn’t pick up my words - and I later found that my audio input jack was broken, too. Just like with the trackpad before, this would only happen every few days. It might be broken for up to a week, and then fixed for up to a week, and then broken… etc.

In addition to this, (I know, my laptop’s stuffed) around the same time as the audio issue started, the battery began to malfunction as well. Again, on and off working and not working. It normally lasts me at least a full day of school when working, but when it malfunctioned it would only last me around three hours.

I don’t really have the money right now to replace the trackpad - let alone the laptop - and while I was considering sucking up the price before, I now don’t know if I should if issues such as the audio and battery are going to continuously pop up.

I’d appreciate any help as this is getting very tedious ? Thanks a million <3

Sadly your system likely had a liquid spill which got under the trackpad. Unlike he ‘15 and older retina models Apple did a better setup so replacing the trackpad is a lot less work! But you also noted your battery is also in trouble! Let’s get a better view of things, install this gem of an app! CoconutBattery take a snapshot of the apps main window and post it here for us to see Adding images to an existing question. I do wonder if the battery is pressing on the touchpad.

The headphone jack is also an easy fix! https://www.ifixit.com/Store/Mac/MacBook... hopefully that's all thats needed.
