doesn't power up nor can it charge

my 2018 13 inch Retina display MacBookPro doesn’t power up and doesn’t charge. I tried SMC reset as well as as PrAM/NVrAM reset but they all failed to power up. is there another fix I can try before I bring it to a fixit shop?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Does your charger have a LED on it when plugged in? If so what the colour of the LED. If not, possible the IO Logic Board (The smaller separate logic board) has damage or even a main logic board issue. It could also be a bad battery, which would be the better issue to have.

@eazy_pc_repairs - Jon - This series uses a USB-C charger which doesn't offer a charging LED. Really need a USB-C power meter to give you the info on your charger and battery.

@danj Sorry about that, I did not think :D Voltmeters are relatively inexpensive (£20 or so) though so OP you should be able to get one quick enough and let us know your findings, Amps draw will tell us a lot about whether its dead or trying to turn on or partly booting :)

Let us know if you decide to get one and let us know. I know my amp lighting cable for iPhones is a huge help :)

Good luck Sir

When I first got my second hand Macbook it came with a charger that didn’t have enough voltage to charge it - the cable was connected to an iPad adapter. It went super dead and couldn’t power up or seemingly charge. Make sure it is the correct charging block? The 61W one I think.

I have reset the battery about 10 times now nothing when I put the usb type c multimeter on it it says it’s getting 20V but I’m only getting 0.989A to charging. When I first installed the new logic board I got the chime that the charger was connected but when I put it to DFU mode tried to revive the Mac the restore I don’t get that now but it never turned on
