iPhone 7 No Power after screen replacement

I done a screen replacement on my iPhone 7. All was good and working but I realised the home button was misaligned. I opened up the phone and disconnected and reconnected the display but forgot to unplug the battery. There is no power or backlight (tried with a light) and nothing in iTunes. Tried a new screen and again nothing. If it is a logic board repair can I buy one of eBay. I have a universal home button but I was wondering whether I can swap in any iPhone 7 logic board and it will work?

In theory if you replace the logic board with another working (non-icloud locked) one, it will work although you will likely experience reduced functionality with some components like the taptic engine, auto-brightness sensor, and the earpiece proximity sensor (the thing that turns the screen off when you hold it to your head during a call). To my knowledge those parts are serialized to each phone’s motherboard and unless you get the parts that originally came with the replacement board, you probably won’t be able to restore full functionality to those components.
