Hi @joshmc,

Try using headphones with a microphone attachment plugged into the phone when on a call and check if you can be heard OK.

Alternatively try using the phone in loudspeaker mode (handsfree mode) to check.

If you still cannot be heard using either of the above methods then there is a problem with the voice transmission circuits in the phone.

If you can be heard OK then there is a problem with the phone’s microphone used for normal (handheld) calls ( a different microphone is used for loudspeaker/handsfree mode calls) or perhaps the voice inlet hole located on the bottom edge of the phone (see image for microphone location) may be blocked with lint or dust etc. (is the phone in a case by any chance?)

Use a strong light and a magnifying glass to visually inspect the voice inlet hole to check if there is anything obvious blocking it. If there is or even if you can’t tell, do not use a pin or probe to try and clear it, as you may damage the microphone. Try using a vacuum cleaner instead and see if it can be cleared by sucking any debris out.

If it still doesn’t work after this then the phone will have to be opened, inspected and tested as to what the problem is.
