Hey Deborah,
I haven’t heard of a keyboard having anything to do with power options.
I would make sure that the keyboard was installed properly first. (Not saying it wasn’t, just something to check)
From there I would head to the Control Panel and check your Power Options.

The instructions were not perfect on You Tube and to say do the reverse to put it back together didn’t help a whole lot. The power issues didn’t happen until after the keyboard replace.. Just cuz you haven’t heard of it, doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen. I’ve tried all kinds of power config changes already, hoping someone who had this issue or worked on one would reply as this isn’t helping right now.
