Can I replace the ATI Radeon Xpress 1100 with something better?

So I wanna replace the ATI Radeon Xpress 1100 in my Acer Aspire 5100 to increase the performance in it as Windows Vista says it’s pretty good except for the ATI Radeon 1100 performance which it rates as only 2.1, anyone know how or if i could?

Hi Valoris,

It is not really worth doing it for a laptop that old. The hard drive has an IDE/PATA interface so upgrading to an SSD drive is not really an option. Is your RAM the maximum 4GB? If yes that’s it . If no then you could upgrade. That’s about it.

A SSD drive could make a difference. If drive is SATA then definitely yes but if PATA (IDE) then only maybe.

Valoris Akosos this is a late answer used just for clarification. The video card on your computer is integrated into the motherboard. You can’t upgrade the card It is actually a chipset on your board). At this time you are stuck with what you have.
