No startup chime Led3 off

iMac shuts off by itself 2 or 3 times during the same week but the last time it does not want to boot again

When I press the power button

- front power led white

- no startup chime

- display is black

- cd/hardisk seems to be on - making noise

- Led1 on, Led2 on but Led3 off

- tried SMC reset but still the same - had fan at full speed.

- tried to remove the memory and got front power led flashing, so it seems that the motherboard not completely dead.

- seems that USB 5V if also off (my third party mouse red LED is OFF)

Any ideas? Inverter from lcd dead?

Does a dead lcd enough to stop boot process before the startup chime?

What is the last 3 characters of your serial number so we can correctly identify your machine. Some iMacs have a video card that is not soldered to the motherboard. If that is the case with yours try reseating the video card in the slot.
