My cd super drive does not burn but reads perfectly well why

my cd superdrive had an issue it never accepted any cd then i cleaned with help from your site with benzoin it reads perfectly well but does not read it aborts i need your guidance it is very expensive in india to change the super drive thank you

If you find it can't be fixed I would recommend getting an external Optical drive. They are cheaper, more reliable and move to other machines. I like the LaCie models as I have had very good luck with them: http://www.lacie.com/us/products/range.h...

OT - probably the main reason I recommend this course of action is due to to many failures and time spent trying to repair these babies. Buying one off eBay is even worse (people pawn off their non-working units on you), I got three in a row like this. Most of the time, your just putting in someone elses used drive. I just wouldn't put a used drive in and the new ones are very high dollar and they're so expensive. But it's just my opinion.

okay, that does make sense, having checked the prices myself :-) and like NARAYANAN LAKSHMANAN said, prices are probably higher in India.
