Why is my screen slipping?

Hello. I bought a 2010 MBP 13” which I have upgraded and cleaned but the screen falls backwards after a certain point and also drops on closing after a certain point. It’s just a niggle and there is no wobble or give at all in the screen. If I thought it was just a case of tightening the screws on the clutch hinge assemblies I might do it, but I’d like to be sure before I go to the bother of dismantling the screen. Any opinions? Thanks.

Answer this question I have this problem too

The display hinges have clutches in them which over time do wear out. Best to find a good independent Mac repair person as replacing them is a bit tricky!

But do-able by myself as I have all the iFixit toolkit?

The screws are often well sealed so you need a bit of strength to not only turn but to press down so the screw driver doesn't slip. Make sure you have the correct tools as any errors could be dangerous!
