Easiest way to get to lid switch for replacement.

Hi I have a whirlpool heavy duty thin twin washer /dryer combo unit. Model #LTE5243DQ3 it’s an older model I purchased from previous apt. Tenants. I’m looking for the easiest way to replace the lid switch. I will be doing it myself when new part arrives and I have tried to remove washer top by unscrewing screws on middle panel between washer and dryer and tried to pull washer top straight out but it won’t come out. What am I doing wrong???! I’m trying to save money and do the repair on my own. Please help with advice. Thankyou!!!

Hi @tsprague1972 ,

Not sure if it is the same but as well as the two screws holding the panel between the dryer and the washer there should be two more screws at the back of the washer that are holding the top cover of the washer.

Once you have released them the cover should pull forward.

Then you unplug the lid switch cable, flip the cover over and lay it flat so that you can replace the lid switch.

Reassemble in reverse order.
