Paper tray will not close on MFC-9130CW, after clearing paper jam

I was able to clear a paper jam, removing torn paper from just above the tray, where it was stuck in the feed rollers, plus a sheet stuck entering the fuser. No sign that any paper bits are left. But now the paper tray won’t close quite all the way. I’m reluctant to slam it in too hard. Can’t see anything obviously broken or fouling.
