Video freezes periodically on my 65" Smart Virtuoso RCA

I have 65” Smart Virtuoso RCA RNSMU6540 and after a while of running it, the video freezes with horizontal line running across. Turning it off and back on temporarily fixes it, but it happens again and sooner. The interval shortens until it doesn’t clear away and needs to be turned off for longer time. The intervals are very irregular. Sometimes I can watch a whole movie, sometimes not even one episode of a series.

The audio keeps playing. Using different HDMI inputs and different sources (such as computer or cable box) makes no difference.

Is there any “simple” fix or is it destined to the dumpster?
