How do I change the internal memory storage name?

For some reason the name of my iPhone 4 internal memory has changed to something else. When I connect my iPhone to the computer, iTunes displays the correct name however in 'My Computer' a different name is displayed. How do I change this?

It happened when I connected a different iPhone 4 to my computer and since then has adopted the name of that iPhone 4. To make it clear, iTunes displays the correct name but 'My Computer' shows a different name.

It is not a major catastrophe but is very annoying to see a name that is not mine.

I have tried to change it through 'My Computer' by right clicking on the device and going through 'Properties' but it does not allow me to edit the name at all. I have scoured the iTunes menu tabs to try and change it but with no success. I have gone through the iPhone 4 general settings and deleted and retyped the iPhone name but that didn't help either.

Anyone got an answer?

There is a way to do it, Where the computer will just change your name to Apple iPhone.

Go to start>> write device manager>> it will show and click on device manager>> in that window look for portable device>>you will see your iphone there>>right click and click uninstall>> once it's done; plug back your iPhone widows will install a new softwear for your device and the annoying name will gone and you will see Apple iphone in place which is better

I don't really want it back to the normal name, so I tried changing the registry key. Just use the find function in the registry (Ctrl-F), and type in whatever it is your iPhone name is. I found this key:

Computer/HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/ControlSet001/Enum/USB/VID_05AC&PID_1294&MI_00/0/Device Parameters/FriendlyName

Change that to whatever you want. I changed "Lable" too, for good measure.

I believe that Windows sometimes has difficulty reading the file system of the iPod touches/iPhones, so that would explain why Windows Explorer displays the different name.
