My screen got damaged last week for my iPhone 3GS. To fix it I ordered frpnt panel kit from ifiit.com and tried change it on my own. After changing I was able to replace screen successfully, but somehow "Home" button stop working. I can't navigate screen with Home button.

Take the front assembly off again and disconnect the 3 cables from the board, flip it over and look at the reverse of the home button, there should be two pins coming out of the home button, check they're both there and are aligned as I believe both have to make contact with the contacts on the dock connector to make the button work.

Iif they are both present and line up, try giving the contacts on the dock a clean, they are on the left hand side, very close to the bottom of the phone on cable '4' side.

If the pins on the home button are fine, you clean the dock connectors and it still doesn't work the home button itself may be damaged.
