trackpad replacement of MacBook Pro mid 2015 A1398

So after liquid damage, my trackpad stopped working

I ordered a replacement online and I am planning to change it, I’ve watched several tutorials, but I still have some questions

  • Can I reuse the old battery after removing it (If it is still in perfect condition?)
  • Should I apply a low voltage after the repair? my macbook pro doesn’t have a usb-c port

*

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Reusing the battery is iffy! In the process of removing it you will stress it. This stressing can damaged the internals. Just like hitting someone hard you won’t necessarily see the damage on the surface as your spleen ruptures! Best to replace it!

The only system which requires a low voltage applied is the Retina MacBook 2015 as well as the 2016 & 2017 systems. Make sure you haven’t confused yours with these.
