iPhone 4 Home button does not work after detach flex cable

I have changed the front glass and LCD of my phone 4 from black to white. Then I detach the flex cable from the black home button and paste on the white home button. After reassembly, the new home button does not work. It is still clicking but no function.

Potential cause is the flex cable broken. Can anyone advice any other cause so that I can try them all to fix this issue.

Options

Start with getting a new home button with flex cable - only about $5 on ebay. It's an easy fix. (iPhonesfixed)
