iPhone Cellular antenna signal strength

I went on Amazon and got a lightning port flex subassembly.

The microphone which was bad, now works, but the cellular antenna reception performance is now way worse. I connected the round rf port connector on the lightning flex, but only cellular strength is affected negatively after the repair. When I'm outside, I get a weak signal but only strong when I drive by a cell antenna.

Following the ifixit, on step 65 of your iPhone 8, lighting connector swap instructions, I DID NOT scour any of the silver glue residue from the back case/cover where the lightning flex adheres to. Do you think this might act as a rf cellular signal insulator? Or is it a bad Amazon lightning flex sub assembly?

I haven’t done charge ports on the new SE yet but I haven’t cleaned the old silver adhesive off before and haven’t had any issues. Although I think the cause of your issues is the Amazon charge port. Retailers like Amazon, eBay, AliExpress, Craigslist, and Wish do not have quality control over the parts that are sold so most of the time you’re getting very cheap subpar quality parts. If the old port is still in tact, I would reinstall that one and see if there’s a change. If that fixes it, order a new premium port from Mobile Sentrix. I use them all of the time in my shop and they haven’t caused any issues.
