How do I fix the mechanical roller?

The camera was working fine but started getting jammed every once in a while, which is a problem I know how to properly fix. Then after taking a few photos, one day, I turned the camera back on and I could hear this clicking from the mechanical film roller at the top of the camera. I tried taking batteries out and opening the case to see if there was any visible damage but I couldn’t see any. Even if the back is closed and there is no film in the camera, when batteries are put in to the camera, this clicking occurs and then eventually stops after 30 seconds or so followed by all the lights flashing.

Does anyone else have this problem or have an idea on how to fix it?
