Red light after I have put my ps3 back together

i took my ps3 apart to replace the fan after putting it all back together when i switch it on there is just a red light it isnt flashing. Have i simply screwed something in wrong if so any ideas? or is there something else. I changed the fan as the console was overheating. It is a 40gb fat model.

Did you change the fan because the unit was overheating, or because the fan was malfunctioning?

I think the obvious answer here is to open it again, undo all the connections etc as if you were replacing the fan, then put it all back together again, checking everything as you go. It can be as simple as a connection just not pressed on properly.. let us know.
