Backlight out after water damage - still works a little bit!

So I put my phone through the wash 2 weeks ago, and I put it in rice and damprid and all that for a whole week. Once I got a new battery ordered, everything worked great, except the wi-fi and the cameras. The backlight went out for a bit one day but came back on. Now when I use it the backlight flashes the lock screen (or when I turn it on) the Apple logo for about a split second and then fades out very quickly. What am I going to have to do? Yes, I've searched, but I've largely only found results relating to 3G and 3Gs. Will a teardown/cleaning solve this? Or is it shot?

Chosen Solution

hopefully yes.. the principle is the same. open and clean internal parts and connections. rice takes out water not residue or corrosion. use any guide on the right to open the phone.
