What should I replace next?

First problem was a continuous Apple logo. After finally getting it to restore, the touch screen is inoperable. I replaced the Front Panel Assembly, but the touch screen still will not work. Should I replace the LCD/Display, or should I have a burial at sea?

The cable that connects wifi/digitiser to logicboard can be damaged..or the pins on the logic board. You can buy this part or examine the logicboard for damage..my ipod 2G "shorted" pin 6&7 I've read quite a few posts about the same pins shorting, I'm in the process of trying to clean it up...someone here has very kindly told me that they had success doing this and then retinning the logicboard wifi/digitiser pins with solder. Something you can try if you've a really good magnifying glass and a very fine tip? The boards for 2G and 3G are pretty similar so I'm hoping that this will be helpful to you..

Unfortunately I reached my level of expertise, and the end of my patience, when I replaced the front panel display. I am not up for the magnifying glass/solder work. Thank you very much for your suggestion, though! Good chance it will help someone.
