My Laptop display is not turning on

Try a full power refresh and check if this resolves the problem.

Here’s how to do this:

i). Disconnect the charger from the laptop if connected

ii). Disconnect the main battery from the motherboard

iii). Disconnect the RTC battery (CMOS battery) from the motherboard

You don’t have to remove the batteries, just disconnect them from the motherboard

iv). Press and hold the laptop’s power button for a full 30 seconds and then release it.

v). Reconnect the RTC battery and the main battery and reassemble the laptop.

vi). Reconnect the charger and turn on the laptop and check if it starts OK.

If it does then there may be a message on the screen saying the date and time is incorrect. This is normal as the BIOS has been reset back to its factory default value. Once the date and time have been corrected the message won’t appear the next time the laptop is started.

Also if it now works OK, it may be that the RTC battery is failing and needs to be replaced. When the RTC battery is disconnected from the motherboard, use a voltmeter to measure the voltage of the battery. If it is <2.6V DC replace it. The RTC battery is a non rechargeable battery that has a life span of 4-5 years approx. Once it gets too low it is possible for the BIOS to become corrupted and prevent a normal startup. Disconnecting the main battery and the RTC battery allows any corrupted BIOS settings to revert back to their factory default condition.
